Voorhees Stars

Welcome To Voorhees Stars!

The Voorhees STARS is the premier girls' travel fastpitch softball program in Hunterdon County, N.J.  The program's inception was in 1996 and inspired by Voorhees High School graduate and two-time United States Olympic softball gold medal champion, Michele Smith. Our home fields are the Voorhees High School Varsity Field in Glen Gardner and Old Turnpike School in Tewksbury, N.J. Our primary focus is to promote softball and develop players within the Voorhees High School sending districts and neighboring towns.  In 2019 we are sponsoring teams at 12U, 14U and 18U levels.  Check back here often for more Voorhees STARS news and to see why everyone wants to be a STAR!  And yes, that's a real STARS player photo above, and yes she was safe!

We are always interested in your comments and suggestions.

Registration now open for 14U STARS Fall Softball action! We will compete in the popular Jefferson League, playing Saturday doubleheaders against teams from Hunterdon, Morris, Warren and Sussex Counties. Regular season games start September 7 and ending October 12, 2019. Games start in the morning and are typically finished by 1:00 p.m. Sundays are reserved only for make-up games due to wet field conditions. We will play home games @Tewksbury's Old Turnpike School ("OTS"),171 Old Turnpike Road, Califon, NJ (GPS address). Count on one practice during the week at OTS or Voorhees High School's Michele Smith Field, 256 Route 513, Glen Gardner, NJ. We will make every effort to avoid conflicts with fall school sports.

It is anticipated that we will play in the "A" 14U Division. Single elimination playoffs will take place the weekend of October 19. We will also participate in the annual Long Valley Friendly Tournament, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, September 22.  All games are 7 innings, but no new inning can start after 1 hour, 30 minutes. Mercy rule is 12 runs after 4 innings; 10 runs after 5 innings.

Registration fee is $125, which includes league fees, umpires, insurance, 1-2 Sunday tournaments, field supplies and maintenance, and personalized jerseys for new players. Deadline to register is August 26, by which time our final roster must be submitted to the league. Don't delay and register today!
